Swan Field Court – Welwyn (flexicare housing)

Situated within the historic village of Welwyn, Swan Field Court provides specialist support for older people with Dementia. The development consists of 8 one bedroom flats and 2 two bedroom flats.

Due to the very specialist nature of this development the criteria for admission is subject to a joint decision making protocol between the Housing Association and Herts County Council’s Specialist Mental Health Team for Older People (SMHTOP).

Swan Field Court has a Scheme Manager whose primary role is to ensure that all the residents receive the help and support they might need to live independently.

Each flat has:

• its own front door, so privacy and independence are maintained
• a modern kitchen and bathroom (all the flats have a walk in shower)
• energy efficient central heating and double glazing
• a call system which links you to an immediate response (24/7)

In terms of communal facilities that you would be able to use and enjoy, it has:

• landscaped gardens which surrounds the scheme
• lifts to the upper floors

Oakview – Stevenage (supported housing)

Oakview provides specialist support for young adults with learning disabilities. The development consists of 10 one bedroom flats. Due to the nature of this development the criteria for admission is subject to a joint decision between the Housing Association, Herts County Council and the Care Provider.

Each flat has:

• a call system which links you to an immediate response (24/7)

Willow House, Howlands – located close to the QEII Hospital, this development consists of 6 two bedroom and 2 two bedroom apartments, sold on a shared ownership basis (part buy, part rent). This means that those people on a low income can who are interested in home ownership can initially buy a 40%, 50% or 60% share by raising a mortgage and pay rent on the remaining proportion.
